Frequently asked questions

What should I wear?

You should wear comfortable, flexible clothing like leggings or jogging bottoms and thin socks. Please don't wear makeup as the last part of the treatment involves a face massage using special oils. You will also be asked to remove your jewellery.

If you don't have anything suitable to wear, you may borrow something at your appointment but getting changed may eat into your treatment time.

How much does it cost?

The cost of the treatment is £110 for an appointment which last 2 hours 40 minutes. This should be paid in advance.

How do I get there?

By Bike: there is an exclusive cycle lane available along the Bristol road and a Beryl bike locking stand 1 minute away. If you come on your own bike, you are welcome to bring it into the venue.

By Bus: it's a 4 minute walk from the nearest bus stops- 61 or 63 on the Bristol Road or 76 on Rookery Road. Or a 14 minute walk from the 45 and 47 buses on the Pershore Road.

By Train: it's a pleasant 16 minute walk through the campus from University station.

By Car: M40, M42, M6 and M5 all lead close by. Traffic can be busy on the nearby Bristol and Pershore roads.

Precise location will be sent upon booking. To view on a map, look for University of Birmingham for the rough location.

Is there free parking?

There is free on-street parking available outside and around. Spaces can be limited during term time due to the university proximity but there are plenty of spaces in the surrounding streets such as on Oakfield Road. Please allow enough time to find a parking spot.

How will I feel afterwards?

Most people feel relaxed and rejuvenated afterwards. However, you may also feel tired as your body releases old energies and tensions. This is perfectly normal. Because the treatment is completely holistic, the effects will continue for several days. You are advised to take it easy during that time, drink plenty of water and -most of all- respond with kindness to the voice of your body.

What should I expect?

After a brief consultation you will be shown to the treatment room where you will lie down on the heated kapok mattress, fully clothed. Your therapist will give you a blanket if you'd like and begin the body work. It will start at your feet, work all the way up your body, including your abdomen and hands and end with your face. This will last two hours.

During the treatment, your therapist will occasionally ask for feedback about pressure and comfort levels. if you've never had a traditional Thai body work it may feel a bit strange the first time as your body will be touched and moved in new ways. Once you've had a few treatments you will know what to expect and probably be wanting a more intense experience.

See the About page for more details.

Some people experience, tingling, emotional or energy shifts and releases during the treatment.

Will there be music?

Sounds will be provided according to your preference, such as gentle music, sea sounds or other calming noise.

Is it okay to talk during the treatment?

Your therapist will ask you to feedback at certain points. Otherwise, you are encouraged to let everything go so that you can experience real stillness within.

Do you offer different kinds of treatments?

At the moment you can only schedule a full body treatment. However, each treatment is different and tailored for your specific needs.
